Innovation cleans the air for viruses at Abenth Physiotherapy

Challenge

It is the season for coughs, colds, and the flu. And although most people do not give Covid much thought, it is in the cold winter months that the risk of getting ill is at its highest.

During these months, we spend approximately 90% of our time indoors. This creates optimal conditions for viruses and bacteria, due to poor ventilation and low air quality. At Abenth Physiotherapy, a sports clinic at Østerbro that treats sports enthusiasts and pro athletes who prepare for e.g. a Marathon, World Cups or the Olympics, an illness can be decisive for the performance, when they compete. “Creating a safe environment for our clients is therefore important, so that they do not have to worry about their health when visiting our clinic”, says Casper Abenth, owner of Abenth Physiotherapy.

Solution

Innovations that prevent infections will become important, when we set up a society that is resilient to epidemics. Especially in the months with most indoors activity. Many diseases are spread through air, which emphasizes the importance to consider the quality of the air we breathe. Especially in workplaces, or places visited by vulnerable people, such as medical clinics, increased hygiene can help to minimize the risk of infections.

During autumn, Abenth Physiotherapy chose to invest in the latest technology to disinfect the air from viruses and bacteria. A discreet unit in both design and sound, but extremely effective. “After we implemented UV AIR from UVCbyEFSEN in our clinic, we have only received positive feedback. We have many pro athletes training for big races or competitions. A week of illness can therefore be decisive for the results in the long run. In the worst case, it can prevent the athletes from participating. Most recently, we saw it during preparations for the World Cup, when a physiotherapist accidently infected a couple of athletes with Covid right before departure”, says Casper Abenth.

Result

Products that combine UV disinfection and design are in line with the need for increased hygiene. And they also live up to a more long-term concept that is in alignment with how our future society should be designed.

“The product’s discreet design does not take away focus from our interior design in the clinic. And it is always a pleasure when a product lives up to a “plug and play” solution. One push on a button, and then the air is disinfected. That is smart. The fact that we now give our clients an extra sense of security in the form of virus- and bacteria-reduced air during the treatments, is what we want to offer in terms of quality and security in our clinic”, concludes Casper Abenth.
