Increased need for further disinfection after cleaning of Biomek robots can be improved by adding a UVC disinfection cycle.
By installing UVCbyEFSEN in Biomek robots the surfaces exposed to UV light receives a UV dose that inactivates a 5LOG reduction of the most common microbes in a lab environment in just 10-15 min.
Installation can be done by a local electrician and is simply done by exchanging the top plates with plates that have UVCbyEFSEN lamps and control unit mounted. On the control unit the time can be adjusted to the requirements for the disinfection, as well as the manual activation for the UVC disinfection.
It’s also required to start an empty cycle of the robot inside Biomek, to minimize any shadow areas.
Different virus and bacteria requires different UV dose exposures to inactivate by 5Log or more. With UVCbyEFSEN Technology installed the majority of microbes can be eliminated in less than 10 minutes to a 5Log, even allowing people to work in the near vicinity to the machine during a disinfection cycle.
Direct exposed surfaces receive 270-398mJ/cm2 in 600 seconds which disinfects some of the difficult Bacteria, Virus, Fungi and Spores.
